The Unweek- Week-2

Well as good as week one was, week 2 was as bad. Monday morning I woke up feeling a little "funky". By 4 pm I was done for. Tuesday and Wednesday I pretty much surfed the couch. But if there's a silver lining it's that I ate nothing but oranges, a couple of bananas, an occasional oatmeal cookie and tea. Talk about a crash diet, I dropped a solid 5 pounds this week. But not worth it. I hate being sick.

Thursday I managed to work for a few hours which included a trip to the Holy Land (Apple Inc. in Cupertino), which pretty much wore me out. But Friday I managed to eek out a painful 2 miles with Tori and Pauline from work. Combine that with Today's solid 8 at a good pace and I managed 10 miles. Better than nothing.

So 10 miles on the run this week, no swim, no bike, no wine no women, I think I'm turning Japanese.... Let's hope week 3 is a good one because WildFlower is looming.
Speaking of the massive "super sumo keep up with the Jones's equipment fest", I was contacted by Terry from tricalifornia events and was informed that 29" wheels would be allowed in the off-road race but preclude the rider from any awards. I guess they feel it gives some riders an advantage? While I'm not sure I agree, he did get back to me right away which was awesome and well appreciated. So I'll be rolling my Cannondale (pictured) which I was given by Bike Station Aptos in exchange for a whole bunch of work.(<--shameless plug)

So the only other thing this week is that I bought one of those orange rollers called "The grid" that's been advertised all to hell. I've used it twice and it's ok. Don't believe the marketing hype.
It's a foam roller and doesn't feel any different than the other two that were already taking up closet space. It's just mini-me'd. So $40 for half size, as opposed to the $12 I spent on the full length hunk of environmental disaster that I've been using for a couple of years now. But this week has been all about the orange.

Stay happy and healthy. Cheers!
